## What it does

Generate made-up IBANs, BSNs, EAN barcodes and EU VAT numbers in bulk. They have the right length and check digits, so they pass validation, and they are produced in your browser.

## How to use it

1. Choose **IBAN**, **BSN**, **EAN / GTIN** or **VAT number**.
2. For an IBAN or VAT number choose the country; for an EAN choose EAN-8, UPC-A, EAN-13 or GTIN-14.
3. Set how many you need and press **Generate**. The values appear in the input, one per line, and the output shows each one as it is written.
4. Or paste your own values, one per line, to see whether they are valid for the chosen kind.

## Good to know

- These are test data. They are well formed but not issued to anyone, so use them only in test and demo environments.
- An IBAN follows its country’s length and bank-code layout and ends in correct check digits.
- A BSN passes the Dutch 11-test, and a Dutch or Belgian VAT number carries its check digits. VAT numbers of other countries only have the right format.
- To check numbers you already have, use the validator instead.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I use a generated number as a real one?

No. A generated number is well formed, but it is not issued to anyone. By chance it can match a number that exists, so use it only in test and demo environments.

### Will an online check accept them?

The check digits are right, so a validator that only checks the digits accepts them. A service that looks the number up, such as VIES for VAT, will reject the ones that were never issued. Only Dutch and Belgian VAT numbers carry a check digit here; other countries get the right format.

### Does this tool send anything anywhere?

No. The numbers are generated in your browser with its secure random generator and are not sent to our servers.
